Whiteman Park is a unique conservation and recreation reserve, covering 4,000 hectares of natural bushland and leisure facilities just 25 minutes from the Perth CBD.
The Park, located on the doorstep of the Swan Valley, boasts a fantastic array of attractions and facilities making it a great destination for families and tourists alike. Best of all, entry to the Park is free.
The extensive array of attractions includes Caversham Wildlife Park, where you can feed the kangaroos, pat a koala and meet a wombat. While evening tours of Woodland Reserve offer you a rare view of the Park at night - and a rarer encounter with the endangered woylie, a cute hopping mammal that is thriving in the protected sanctuary at Whiteman Park. Discover our rich transport heritage story in three museums – Revolutions Transport Museum, the impressive Motor Museum of WA and the Tractor Museum of WA. Then explore the Park by vintage train or tram, taking a leisurely trip through remnant farmland and natural bushland; or on a guided tour by vintage bus each Monday.
Take delight in wandering through the Children's Forest with the kids, searching for intriguing artworks – from the peeking possum to a life-size wedge-tailed eagle’s nest and golden echidna – whilst finding out more about our native bushland.
Open every day of the year, the picturesque grounds of the Village and Mussel Pool areas are perfect for picnics with lush lawns, shady trees and well-appointed facilities including playgrounds, a splash pool, ample BBQs and shelters.
