The Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory makes science fun. Come and explore.
The Discovery and Innovation Galleries
These Galleries feature interactive exhibits that explain all about Einstein and his amazing science. Included are a lecture theatre, biodiversity and discovery galleries.
United Group Leaning Tower of Gingin
The Leaning Tower of Gingin is 13 stories high and is possibly leaniest tower in the world especially designed with a 15 degree lean. The tower was inspired by the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, where Galileo carried out his gravity experiments. Visitors can drop water filled balloons from the 45 metre tower, to replicate Galileo’s gravity experiment.
Cosmology Gallery
The Cosmology Gallery brings art, science, religion, culture and photography together, to explore how we imagine our place in the universe. Exhibits include cultural artworks from Indigenous Australians, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic artists. There is also a 60 metre timeline of the universe from the big bang to now.
GDC Observatory (Southern Cross Cosmos Centre)
The GDC Observatory includes several large telescopes which are used for practical astronomy viewing evenings. Aboriginal Astronomy nights connect culture to Astronomy.
